Welcome to the personal website of irregular academic Michael Meckler. I use that description not because of any gastrointestinal condition, but rather to introduce the phrase irregularly updated website, a fact well known to visitors to MichaelMeckler.com over the past decade.
After putting this site on hiatus for about two years, I'm going to start updating it again in a regular fashion. I hope to make it "mobile-friendly" as well, although that project will take me some more time. So you'll have to content yourself with a "state of the art" web experience circa 2010 for a little while longer at least.
Anyway, the above menu directs visitors to my academic curriculum vitae, a list of my academic publicatons, a blog, a feature on an event that took place this week in history, links related to my scholarly and community work, and information on how to contact me.
Please especially check out my blog where I often discuss the interaction between classical antiquity, the Middle Ages and contemporary life...or whatever else strikes my fancy. When the blog is updated, I post a notice on Twitter for my followers.
Thanks for visiting!
