I don't really put a whole lot of stock in the college rankings by U.S. News & World Report, but their top 4 U.S. schools are as follows:
1. Princeton
2. Harvard
3. Chicago
4. Yale
I was a student at 1 & 3, taught at 4 and have spoken at 2.
Of course, that and $4.95 will get me a half-caff mochaccino grande. (My great-uncle used to say, "That and a nickel will get you a cup of coffee," but times have changed.)
Anyway, shortly after I showed up at Michigan (number 27 on the current list) for my Ph.D., the rankings — relatively new at the time — came out for that year, with the schools in roughly the same positions. Knowing that I was a graduate of both Princeton and Chicago, my teacher Bruce Frier said to me, "Michael, you seem to be going down in the world."
And now I'm at Ohio State. ;-)
