I'm finally...FINALLY...starting to harvest tomatoes from the garden.
The delay in the harvest had nothing to do with the weather, which has been fine for tomatoes. Nor was I late in getting plants into the garden.
Rather, the late harvest was due to something that didn't get done early in the spring: I never had time to transplant the seedlings from the starter tray into individual Styrofoam cups to give the young plants more room to grow before setting them in the garden outside. And so the plants were smaller than they should have been when they went in the ground.
But as you can see in this photo, the harvest is starting, with Lemon Boys and Romas. And since I plant indeterminate varieties, I should be continuing to harvest tomatoes well into the fall.
