Prof. Michele Ferrari of the University of Erlangen has informed me of two upcoming summer programs he's organizing for those interested in manuscript studies.
With the Abbey Library of St. Gall, he's preparing a weeklong summer program in medieval manuscript culture. The program, to be held at St. Gall from 4-9 July, will provide an introduction to the history, morphology and cultural impact of manuscripts. Cost (which includes accommodation) is €475 or 500 CHF. The number of participants is limited to 10, and the application deadline is 1 March.
And with the Herzog August Bibliothek Wolfenbüttel, he's preparing a weeklong program, on the use of computing tools in manuscripts studies, including "XML, TEI-P5 and application software, and the skills to describe medieval and early modern manuscripts in TEI and MXM." This program, to be held in Wolfenbüttel, runs from 13-17 June, and the cost (including accommodation) is €290. Application deadline is 1 April.
