Time is running out to get your abstracts in for the 2016 Celtic Studies Association of North America annual meeting, to be held 5-8 May at Saint Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.
I was privileged to attend the previous time CSANA met in Antigonish back in 1992, and everyone had a wonderful experience. Over the past two decades, the campus of St.FX ("Saint F-X," as the school is known) has evidently expanded and modernized, and the town has similarly become even more accommodating to visitors and tourists.
And the CSANA meeting is probably the friendliest and most supportive academic conference you'll ever find. Both younger scholars and established scholars "sticking their toe" in the waters of Celtic studies will find the meeting very helpful in advancing their research.
Papers are invited on any aspect of language, literature, history, folklore and culture of the Celtic peoples from any period. Abstracts should be sent by November 30 — a week from today — via e-mail to celtic@stfx.ca with the words "CSANA 2016 Abstract" in the subject line.
Please note that speakers are required to be members of CSANA, though dues are quite nominal (only $20 US/£13 GBP for student members). A downloadable PDF membership form can be found on the CSANA website.
