Cream cheese is considered an essential item in the Meckler household that one is never without.
For most of the year, store brands are purchased because they're significantly less expensive than Philadelphia brand, which is the original cream cheese. During Passover, however, only Passover-certified brands are purchased, and that includes Philadelphia but not the store brands.
Well, I have to admit that Philadelphia brand tastes better. It has a richer, creamier taste than the store brands my palate became used to.
Now I'm not certain that, in the future, Philadelphia will be stocked exclusively in the Meckler refigerator in place of the cheaper store brands, but Philadelphia's superior taste will be kept in mind when grocery shopping in the months ahead.
